CONSERVATION VOWS RENEWED: NEW TANAPA CONSERVATION COMMISSIONER TAKES OATH IN CEREMONY PRESIDED BY HON. MINISTER KAIRUKI (MP)

Hon. Angellah Kairuki (MP), Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, led an Oath to TANAPA’s conservation commissioner Musa Nassoro Kuji Juma as the new Conservation Commissioner for Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) at a ceremony held on January 29, 2024, at the TANAPA headquarters in Arusha.

During the ceremony, Hon. Kairuki delivered 14 directives to Commissioner Kuji. These directives encompassed strengthening the protection of natural resources, continuous revenue collection, effective management, and monitoring of patrols to combat illegal activities within the parks. These activities include addressing issues such as livestock encroachment, mining, and fostering collaboration with tourism institutions.

In response, Commissioner Kuji expressed his commitment to collaborate with all TANAPA staff to proactively safeguard the Tanzanian natural resources. He pledged to work diligently, maintain discipline, and effectively manage all park areas to fulfil the government's desired goals.
