HISTORY
RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

Step into the heart of wild Africa at Ruaha National Park—Tanzania’s second-largest national park and one of its most spectacular wilderness areas. Spanning 20,226 sq. km of rugged, baobab-studded landscapes in south-central Tanzania, Ruaha offers an authentic safari experience far from the crowds, where predators roam freely and vast herds gather along the life-giving Great Ruaha River.
Ruaha’s remote location means exclusive, crowd-free game viewing—where you’ll often have sightings all to yourself. By day, track big cats on the hunt; by night, fall asleep to the sounds of hyenas whooping under star-filled skies. "Ruaha is raw, untamed Africa—where the river whispers legends and the baobabs stand as silent witnesses to the circle of life."

Where the Wild Roams Free
🐘 Elephant Kingdom – Home to 10% of Africa’s lion population and some of the largest elephant herds in Tanzania.
🌵 Baobab Wonderland – Ancient, towering baobabs dot the golden savannah, creating a surreal backdrop for game drives.
🌊 The Great Ruaha River – The park’s lifeline, named from the Hehe word [Luhava] (great river), attracts lions, leopards, buffalo, and rare wild dogs during the dry season (June–October).
🦅 Birdwatcher’s Paradise – Over 570 species, including the crested barbet and Ruaha red-billed hornbill.
